Acrylics on Canvas & Cardboards Amsterdam, 2018

Punch cards and DNA cardboard cards were used on the construction of these paintings. Using my own DNA sequencing and laser controlled mechanical devices, I investigate the relation between digital genetic codes, analogue structures and digital vs analog.

Re-edit trace the history of art, to the fields of science and technology. The ecosystems generated in this pieces enable a dialogue on the storage of large amounts of data, DNA sequencing, transcultural patterns and migratory networks. The canvas is used in this series as an abstract platform for exploration and research, as well a symbolic mode for using digital technologies and genetics as an experimental approach to painting.
