Installation View | Kunsthal Oud Groninger Museum | Groningen 2018
In collaboration with Minerva Art Academy and Frank Mohr Institute.
Minerva students worked together with Artist in Residency Antonio Jose Guzman to create an exuberant collection of costumes, acrylics on canvas, silkscreen on indigo textiles, masques and head pieces inspired by Guzman’s research on migration, DNA, Yoruba culture and ancestry. The project is part of The Supreme Exodus Trilogy, an ongoing Transatlantic collaboration in which Guzman investigates the recent history of migration in Latin America.
Each year Minerva Art Academy invites a international top artist to work as an Artist in Residence, during the residency students and the AIR work together in an intensive research project.
This project was made possible by the generous support of the Mondriaan Fund and Stichting Beringer Hazewinkel.
